Static lie and loft gauges set a baseline—the golfer's address posture doesn't move those readings, but dynamic measurements breathe life into data when the club is in motion. In a 2017 workshop at the PGA Tour Performance Lab, practitioners demonstrated how dynamic lie readings can differ by as much as 0.8° from static baselines if the player fails to maintain a consistent spine angle. We teach readers to capture both frames: static for baseline integrity, dynamic for real-world dispersion.
